On World Communion Sunday (Oct. 2) we recognize those in our cooperative parish who bring the grace of the sacrament to our church family members who can no longer attend the table in person. Homebound servers are: Kay Canter, Dot Clark, EN Garnett, Pat Graham, Lisa Hanrahan, Susan Hastings, Olin Herndon, Carolyn McGee, DeAnn and Joe Posey, Margaret Stickley, and Karen Young.

On September 29th!
WHAT: On the very last Thursday of each month, FUMC and HAUMC women will gather for fellowship over their “brown bag” lunch, brought from home or their favorite deli.
WHEN: The last Thursday of every month (holidays excluded)
WHERE: At First UMC in either the Gathering Space or Fellowship Hall
WHY: To meet with women we know and some we don’t know. There will be no formal program.

PIZZA - GAME - CRAFTS NIGHT
October 9, 2022 will be an action packed evening for ALL AGES!
Starting at 5:00pm with pizza, then off to find a board game or activity to participate in! We'll have some games here OR bring a game from home.
We will also be crafting t-shirt totes to send to Haiti (easzy-peazy!) No sewing involved and we have LOTS of t-shirts!
All over the church will be different opportunities!

Magnify Choir Is Back!
Rehearsals begin on Oct. 25 at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary. This choir is open to all and no experience is required! This is a great opportunity for a short term opportunity to participate in a vocal ensemble. Weekly one hour rehearsals will culminate in a musical offering on December 11 in the worship service. What a great way to celebrate the birth of a Savior! |

Looking For A Leader!
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) missions trips have been a long standing tradition at First Church, and after a pause for the last several years, we are ready to serve again this summer! ASP trips combine church youth and adults to serve needy families in Appalachia through home repairs.
We are looking for an individual at First Church who would be interested in leading the trip this summer (tentative dates: June 25th-July 1st). No previous experience necessary!

In September, 2021 the Portico Cafe' opened with lemonade and cookies following worship. Since then a small group of members have been providing the refreshments and helping set up, serve, and clean up.
