Can you sew?  Do you have some extra time on your hands because you are staying safe at home?  If so, we are looking for people to help make masks for our health care providers as well as our church family.  Links to patterns will be provided and if you need fabric the Quilt Ministry can provide some to you.

1. Did you reach out to three people last week?  Send an email, call them, or pray for them?  If you did, thank you!  Your words and calls can make a huge impact on someone else's life right now in this time of isolation.  Can you think of three more to contact this week?  It can be anyone at all, not just people in our church family.

2. We have initiated a note-writing campaign for the health care workers in our community to let them know they are appreciated. These notes will be distributed at our local hospitals and clinics and can include words of encouragement, drawings (maybe from your kids?), and anything else you might want to enclose.  Contact Cindy Remington at mspoots@gmail.com or 434.978.7563.

3. We are still in search of people who can help make face masks for our church family.  Contact Cindy Remington, mspoots@gmail.com, or 434.978.7563.  The Quilt Ministry can supply you with fabric!
#50forFood #CvilleCovidCare
Cville Community Cares is launching our second call for mutual aid, this time focused on feeding local community members.

In partnership with Sin Barreras Charlottesville, we are raising $50,000 for immediate distribution to residents who are experiencing food insecurity, including our undocumented neighbors. Stimulus checks are on their way but we know many will not get checks immediately or at all. Join us in redistributing this wealth to our community members who need it most.

If you are looking for ways to provide support, or if you need support in the greater Cville area, please spend some at this website is the most up-to-date resource (both in and for our community) and there are currently local needs for medical/cleaning supplies for local healthcare workers. Make sure you scroll all the way down each page and you'll see ways that you can donate funds, time, and supplies, or receive those items as well. There is also a lot of information related to health resources and who to contact locally if you have any questions.

With so many changes to our daily routines and schedules it can overwhelming trying to keep track of what has been canceled, postponed, rescheduled, or moved to an online meeting. It is our hope that we will keep our website regularly updated with important church announcements and ways that we can still be involved in the community!

Hello Church Family,

Many thanks for your faithfulness in continuing to send in your offerings during this time of distancing. Numerous checks were received by mail, and more gifts electronically than usual. Also, many thanks to those who have sent in their “I Can Help” cards and extra funds to help in this difficult financial time. I’ve had a few questions regarding charges using the Vanco site on the FUMC website. Here are some figures to hopefully answer any questions you might have.

Credit Card Transaction:
$0.45 charge per transaction
2.75% processing fee per transaction

ACH Debit Transaction:
$0.25 charge per transaction
.06% processing fee per transaction

The Vanco site does give the option to add those amounts to the gift to cover the fees if desired. However, those who do not, please know that FUMC has always covered those charges so that the giver receives full credit for his/her gift.

Again, thank you again for your faithfulness.

Blessings all,

Beryl Wilkes,
Treasurer
