Share your photos with Carolyn and we will share them here!

Be sure to stop by to view his work! All items (paintings and journal books) are for sale and a percentage of each sale will go to benefit PACEM as we seek to make the nights warmer for some of our unhoused neighbors.Thank you for your support!

CFUMC Support of PACEM’s Opening Weeks
We are thrilled to share the remarkable impact you've made through your generous support of PACEM at Sojourners. Thanks to your dedication, CFUMC members filled 53 of the 169 volunteer slots posted—an impressive 31%! Additionally, your contributions covered some or all of the requirements for 7 out of the 14 evening meals.
Your willingness to serve and provide for those in need reflects the spirit of compassion and community that defines our congregation. Thank you for embodying Christ’s love through your actions and commitment. |

Interested in helping to feed some folks during the Holidays? Let’s support the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank as they undertake a Food Drive beginning Wed. Nov. 16 and running until Dec 14. Bring non-perishables to the Welcome Center to support the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. Most-needed items include peanut butter, canned meats/veggies/fruit, beans, pasta/rice, and low-sodium soups. These donations support families during the holidays, especially in a year when supplies are already strained before the season begins.
Let’s make a difference!

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR STATEMENT ON IMMIGRATION
A coalition of people in Charlottesville-area faith communities has been working on compassionate responses to the current immigration landscape. They have produced a statement which you are invited to sign on to that will be presented to elected local and national representatives.
Love Thy Neighbor / Statement on Immigration Enforcement
We, as members of faith communities and people of conscience, are guided by moral values to support the family and to show compassion to the stranger.
We condemn the enforcement of policies that shatter immigrant families, when neither parents nor children have been charged with violent crimes.
We condemn detention without informing family members of the whereabouts of their loved ones or permitting communication and visitation.
We call upon our elected leaders and fellow citizens to ensure that immigrant families remain together and are treated with fairness and humanity.
Here is a link to a Google Document for you to sign.

Remembering Our Unhoused Neighbors
Thursday, December 18th from 3-4pm
You are invited to join us in our annual memorial for our neighbors who died while experiencing homelessness. Homeless Persons' Memorial Day is traditionally held on the longest night of the year, December 21, in communities across the nation. Charlottesville will hold its vigil on Thursday, December 18, 3-4pm, at The Haven.
PACEM will honor and remember those we lost. In particular, we will remember Michael Syrkes Jr who passed away in his sleep while staying in our shelter hosted at Sojourners last month. We will also remember Robert Coombs who had been staying in our shelter off and on this season. He died while sleeping outside at Market Street Park yesterday morning. We are heartbroken; we carry on the mission.
Sending hugs and support to you all. We look forward to honoring our neighbors with you later this month.
