Announcements
Do You Have A Story?

We’re excited to announce that we will be celebrating the 100 year birthday of Charlottesville UMC and our 2025 Consecration Sunday on the same day in early November!

There is so much to be thankful for in our church’s rich history and our vision for the future. Do you have a story about the church’s history or a personal experience as part of this congregation that moved you, changed you, furthered your walk of faith, moved you to act or give?

We’d like to gather these stories to share around these celebrations; they could be an oral re-telling (by you or someone for you), or stories compiled in a booklet. Please roam through your memories for stories to share, and let us know how we can help tell them.

Contact Rex at rexhickman@comcast.net or Carolyn at carolynmcgee@cvillefirstumc.org. Thank you!!

Traveling Tiny Jesus

Pick up a tiny Jesus or two today on your way out of worship and take Him with you as you travel through life! If you go on vacation, place Him in your photo! Let us see the places you visit! (Truthfully, don’t we always want to have Jesus by our side?)

Share your photos to Instagram and use the hashtag #tinyjesuscfumc

The One Thing Ministry for June will benefit our very own Vacation Bible School! Take a tab off of the bulletin board in the Welcome Center and go shopping! Want us to do the shopping for you? Reconciling Ministry Table
Sundays through June 22nd

What does it mean to become a Reconciling Church?

Stop by our welcome table (located in the Art Gallery right outside of the Sanctuary) after our worship service to find out! Members of our congregation who are Reconciling Individuals would love to share information with you about Reconciling Ministries Network

Every Sunday now through June 22, we will be highlighting:

  • What it means to be a Reconciling Congregation.
  • Steps we have taken to become a Reconciling Church.
  • How YOU can become a Reconciling Individual.
  • And why it matters!

We hope you will stop by and say hello :)

Potluck!
June 22nd After Worship

After worship on June 22, Reconciling Church Sunday, we will fellowship with a potluck taco bar lunch! You bring the sides and desserts and the church will provide the tacos!

A New Book Study Opportunity for All
Thursdays from 10:30am-12pm starting June 19th

You're invited to a special summer study and journaling experience led by Claire Kent, exploring God Was with Me All Along by Mary Lou Redding. Sessions will be held in person on Thursday mornings from 10:30am to noon, starting June 19.

Each meeting will include contemplative practices, reflection through music, scripture, and poetry, and group discussion based on journal prompts from the book. Join us in discovering how God’s presence has been with us all along—often in ways we only recognize in hindsight.

Reconciling Sunday
June 22, 2025

Maybe you’ve seen the Reconciling Ministries table on Sunday morning and wondered: What’s the next step in making our congregation a welcoming and affirming congregation for all people?

Come explore some more on Sunday, June 22 when we hold our first Reconciling Sunday. The Rev. Emily Bagwell, of the Reconciling Ministry Network and an incoming Virginia United Methodist pastor, will be joining us for the 10 AM service and for a potluck lunch to follow in the fellowship hall.

During lunch we’ll have an opportunity to hear more about the RMN and what it would mean for us to become a Reconciling Church.
